Linear Equation Word Problem

A clothing business finds there is a linear relationship between the number of shirts,n,it can sell and the price,p, it can charge per shirt. In particular, historical data shows that 5000 shirts can be sold at a price of $ 19, while 7000 shirts can be sold at a price of $ 13. Give a linear equation in the form p=mn+b that gives the price p they can charge for n shirts.

How did you go from p-19=(-.003)(n-5000) to this p-19= (-.003n) + 15

She multiplied (-.003) to n and -5000. (-.003) x n = (-.003n) and (-.003) x -5000 = 15 (positive)
