A square and rectangle have the same perimeters

the length side of the square is 4x-1. The length of the rectangle is 2x+1 and the width x+2

4(4x - 1) = 2((2x + 1) + (x + 2))

16x - 4 = 4x + 2 + 2x + 4

10x = 10

x = 1

 

4(1) - 1 = 3

 

2(1) + 1 = 3

 

1 + 2 = 3
