I would just add that students often get confused as to when to add the expressions together or set them equal to each other at this stage in the class.
If there is a bisector involved or you have two congruent angles then chances are you are going to set the two expressions equal to each other.
In this case the two angles are complementary. Complementary angles add up to 90 degrees so you can add the two angle measures, set them equal to 90 degrees, then solve for x. The postulate that allows you to do this is called the Angle Addition Postulate and you should know this and be able to identify it when you are looking at it.
