Start with the graph of y = x3
Translate the graph of y = x3 two units to the left to get the graph of y = (x+2)3
Compress the graph of y = (x+2)3 vertically to get the graph of y = (1/3)(x+2)3
Translate the graph of y = (1/3)(x+2)3 one unit upward to get the graph of y = (1/3)(x+2)3 + 1
Reflect the graph of y = (1/3)(x+2)3 + 1 in the x-axis to get the graph of y = (-1/3)(x+2)3 - 1
