Each student gets 1/4 of a pizza( or 2 slices, since they are cut into 8 pieces)

 

There are 19 students.  Just multiply  (1/4) (19)= 19/4= 4 3/4 or 4.75 pizzas.  So, order 5.

If a pizza has a total of 8 slices, then a fourth of a pizza is 2 slices.

Since each student receives a fourth of a pizza, each student receives 2 slices.

This implies there must be 38 slices available to students.

If you can order a fraction of a pizza, then you order 4 and 3/4 of pizza.

If you can't order a fraction of a pizza, then you order 5 pizzas.
