How many kilograms of CO2 are emitted into the atmosphere by cars in the US each day? [1 gallon of gasoline has a mass of 3.5 kg of gasoline]

In total, Americans drive about 5.0 * 10^9 miles per day, and their cars get an average of 22 miles per gallon of gasoline used. For each kilogram of gasoline used, about 3kg of carbon dioxide (CO2) are produced.

I just want to know some of the initial steps of how to set this up because I'm a little confused.
