 In order to find which is the better buy all you have to divide. in order words you have to find the unit price. How much you pay per pound.

 

a) bag of cat food: 13.89/8= 1.73625 rounding $1.74 per pound

b) bag of saw brand: 24.79/20= 1.2395, rounding $1.24 per pound

 

So, the bag of saw brand is cheaper.
