If 2 screws are used to fasten each end of a box mounting bracket, each bracket has two ends, and if each bracket has 2 boxes mounted on it using 2 screws per box and 23 of these set ups are used on a particular section of a job site, how many screws will be needed (not accounting for any extras?) (None of the screws have a duel purpose. Boxes are not connected to the ends of the brackets.)

2X2X2X2X23 = 368

 

2 screws for each end of bracket (2 screws X 2 ends = 4 screws per bracket)

Each bracket has 2 boxes..... using 2 screws per box (2 boxes X 2 screws = 4 screws per bracket)

Therefore, each bracket needs 4X4 = 16 screws

 

23 set ups are used on job site.... 23X16 = 368
