I have hundreds of hours of experience tutoring Physics and Math (Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus) at both the high school and college level. I explain things in down-to-earth ways that really help students understand the concepts they are learning.

I like to use real-world examples from interests of mine, including music, astronomy, and others, along with experiences I've had during my career as a Submarine Officer in the US Navy, to really help students solidify their understanding of the material being studied. Learning is better (and more interesting) when you can link a concept or an equation to something in real life.

I graduated from South Dakota State University with a B.S. in Physics and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering (GPA 3.91). I also have a Master's Degree in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University (GPA 4.0).

As mentioned, I am an active duty Submarine Officer in the US Navy, working at US Strategic Command on Offutt AFB near Omaha, NE. I have been working in the nuclear power field for most of the last 20 years. During my career, I have taught people from all walks of life many math and science concepts. Much of my career has involved helping high school and college graduates learn the difficult aspects of nuclear power, along with the math, physics, and chemistry that goes along with those concepts.

I have learned a number of techniques to effectively convey difficult ideas and help students truly understand the underlying concepts - not just solve the specific problem at hand. I also have developed proven techniques for ensuring material is retained. I use these techniques to ensure you are better prepared overall, whether for test preparation, application, or learning more advanced topics.

Helpful and welcoming

My son was taught physics 1. Tony was patients and kind and welcoming. He clarified parts of six assignments. Which had helped my son catch up after getting behind because of sports and sickness.

Great Physics Tutor

My HS Junior daughter needed some real 11th hour pinch hitting help to work on a physics quiz. Tony was able to explain everything very clearly and methodically to her and go through the problem set. Highly recommend Tony for any physics support.

Tony was very helpful and explained each question and worked through it with me. I hope to be able to do it again soon. Thank you and thanks for being able to do it so last minute!

Reliable and clear tutor.

So far, Tony has been great! He has helped me as a student understand forces and drawing force diagrams. He answers my questions clearly and I leave each session feeling like I understand Physics more. I have only had a couple (2-3) sessions with him so time will tell to see if Tony continues to be an effective tutor. So far, however, he has been a great help!

Favorite!

Extremely helpful and I will continue use until I finish my class this semester! He has already improved my ability to understand what I'm doing in college algebra.
