What is 2-5x4-[6x(3-4)]

I need help on this math problem I’ve been struggling so much and I’ve dont it a lot of times and I get different answers everytime.

           Hi Daniella lets give this a try....PENDAS  ..from inside out.

 

 

 

                 2-5 x 4- [6x(3-4)].          Inside Brackets first.

 

                 2-5x4- [6x (-1)].                                                                 

 

                2- 5x4- (-6).      Now notice we have a minus minus  6.  Or negative times negative =positive.

 

                 =  2- (20  +6).                                   

 

                  =  -24.    --->   Answer.

You need to remember the mnemonic: Please Explain My Dear Aunt Sally...for the order of operations: parentheses, exponentiation, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction.

2 - 5*4 - [6 * (3 -4)] = 2 -20 - [6 * (-1)] = -18 - (-6) = - 18 + 6 = -12
