Candy and tim share a paper route. It takes candy 70 minutes to deliver all the papers, and it takes Tim 80 minutes. How long does it take the two when they work together ?

Candy delivers 1/70 minutes, Tim delivers 1/80 minutes.

 

Let T be the number of minutes it takes both of them to deliver paper.

 

T(1/70 + 1/80) = 1

 

T(3/112) = 1

T = 37 1/3 minutes or 37 minutes and 20 seconds.
