On a sunny day, a flag pole and its shadow form the sides of a right triangle. If the hypotenuse is 50 m long and the shadow is 40 m, how tall is the flag pole?

Answer 1

a² + b² = c²

a² + 40² = 50²

a² + 1600 = 2500

a² = 900

a = 30 m
