2(l+ w) = 26
l + w = 13
l = 13 - w
lw = 40
(13 - w)w = 40
13w - w2 = 40
w2 - 13w + 40 = 0
(w - 8)(w - 5) = 0
w - 8 = 0
w = 8
w - 5 = 0
w = 5
Since the width is usually the shorter, the length is 8m and the width is 5m.
