The meeting room at the Harper hotel is being recarpeted.the room is square with 25-ft sides.the stage area,10ft by15ft,will not be carpeted.what is the total area being carpeted?

You'll want to take your room size (25 x 25 or 625 sq. ft.) and then subtract the area of the stage (10 x 15 or 150 sq. ft.)

 

625 - 150 = 475 sq. ft.
