I eat a third of a chocolate .there are 16 left now .How much were there in the box at the start ??

let the whole chocolate be x. Since you ate "a third" (or 1/3) of the chocolate (x), then you are left with 2/3 of it which is 16. since 2/3 of x is 16, then 3/3 is 24, and that's your answer
