Use the conversion ratios 1000g/1kg and 1m/100cm
Since 1m = 100cm, then 1m^2 = 10,000cm^2 (square both sides)
Multiply by the conversion ratios so that the units will cancel and you will be left with g/cm^2
8kg/m^2 x 1000g/1kg x 1m^2/10,000cm^2 = 0.8g/cm^2
