That's a very broad question. Start with the most fundamental question: what happened when the ancient humans caught on that a seed made a plant grow, so they could control when and where things grow? Now consider what changed when humans learned to start their own fires, or create weapons that brought them closer to the prey they wanted to eat or the predators with whom they competed?
Consider the rise of religion, politics, and of course science. We can now leave our planet, at least temporarily. Our probes can reach beyond the solar system, and our signals have been doing that since the late 1940s, announcing our presence to anything else out there. Alas, we can also exterminate all living things if we wish, either individually or whole cities at a time.
