As Andy said ... the answer is 25.
The reason is the ORDER OF OPERATIONS, which
is given by PEMDAS
 
In order you do
1: Parenthesis
2: Exponents
3: Multiplication & Division, left to right as encountered
4: Addition & Subtraction, left to right as encountered
 
Note:  Within parenthesis, the same order is followed
 
5 + 2 x 10
Multiplication is done prior to addition by PEMDAS
5 + 20
25
