How to weight answers

Question

So I am doing a study on gender linguistics. To account for other factors I need to weight the findings.

So atm A = 27. But there is a factor which puts A at a 20% advantage to B.

B = 18 but has a separate 3% advantage over A.

Do i add 20% and remove 3% from B and remove 20% and add 3% to A,or do I just add the 20 and 3 % respectively.

Or am i just confused and need to do something else?

Any help would be really greatly appreciated.

Why not just increase them by 3% and 20% respectively to get them on a level playing field?

 

 A=20*(1.03) = 20.6

 

B= 18*1.2 = 21.6
