Calculus will seem easy if you have the right tutor!
A rational number is the ratio of two integers, and it must terminate, or repeat, in its decimal representatlon.
Irrational numbers can be PROVEN to not be representable as the ratio of two integers.
Pi, and also the number "e" are actually TRANSCENDENTAL numbers but it is true that they are not rational.
