I have 715 cookies. I put them evenly into 31 bags. How many go in each bag?

My first step is 600/30=20. If i had 600 cookies and put them evenly into 30 bags, i could put 20 cookies in each bag

To find "cookies per bag" just divide the number of cookies

by the number of bags:

 

715/31 = 23 R2

 

We can put 23 cookies in each of 31 bags with

2 cookies left over.  Someone gets a bonus.  :-)
