Sean is training for a bike race that will take place next month. On Saturday he rode his bike 145 miles in a practice race. Sean rode part of the race at an average speed of 25 miles per hour, and he averaged 20 miles per hour for the remaining part of the race. If it took Sean 6 hours to finish the practice race, how much time did he spend riding at a rate of 25 miles per hour?

(145-X)/25 + X/20 = 6

multiply by 100

580 - 4X + 5X = 600

X = 20 miles at 20 mph

145-20 = 125 miles at 25 mph

5 hours at 25 mph. 5x25 = 125 miles at 25 mph

1 hour at 20 mph
