FIguring Grams to Milligrams in an emulsion

If I have 2 grams of powder that gets mixed in 20 oz of an emulsion, then separated out into 10 (2 oz) containers, how many milligrams of powder will each container have?

Answer 1

2 grams/20 oz = 0.1 g powder per ounce in the original mixture.  If you then divide this into 10 equal parts of 2 oz each, you have 0.1 g/oz x 2 ox = 0.2 g of powder in each container.

0.2 g x 1000 mg/g = 200 mg of powder in each container.
