IF 62.5% of a population were female in country A and in country B, and the population in each were 1 million people, how many people are female, when you add them up in both countries?
5/8= 0.625 = 62.5% 62.5% of 1 million = 625,000
2 x 62.5% = 2 x 5/8 = 10/8 = 5/4
5/4 times 1 million = 1,250,000 females total
= 2 x 625,000 = 1,250,000 = 1 and 1/4 million females
(probably war torn countries with lots of dead males from the wars)
