3b + 4f = 14.63

2b + 5f = 16.03

 

Since we have to find the price of a package of balloons, we should eliminate the f. If we multiply the top by 5 and the bottom by -4, the f will cancel out.

 

15b + 20f = 73.15

-8b - 20f = -64.12

 

Adding the two equations, we get...

 

7b = 9.03

b = 1.29

 

A package of ballons costs $1.29.
