The area of a rectangle is 65ft and the length of the rectanglr is 3ft less than 2 times the width.Find the dimensions of the rectangle.

First, it should be the area of a rectangle is 65 ft² (square).

Area, A=l*w, (l -length, w-width). It is given that l=2w-3.

65=(2w-3)w

2w²-3w-65=0

w=-5 and  w =13/2. 

Since width should be positive, width is 3/2, length=2(13/2)-3=10.
