Let us assume that Jack is at the age of X. Mike is 5.25 (5 1/4) years older than Jack so that his age is (5.25+X). Additionally, Nate is 11.5 (11 1/2) years older than Jack; thus, Nate's age should be (11.5+X). The difference in Mike's age and Nate's age can be counted as [(11.5+X)-(5.25+X)]. After we simplify this term, we will know that Nate should be 6.25 years older than Mike, 6 years 3 months precisely.
