Slope between (x1, y1), (x2, y2) is found by:
m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
(-7,3), (1,-9)
m = (-9-3)/(1-(-7)) = -12/8 = -3/2
or
m = (3-(-9))/(-7-1) = 12/(-8) = -3/2
As you can see, it doesn't matter which you
consider the first point and which the second
so long as you are consistent with it.
