Significant figures

Question

When doing kinematic equations if I have an initial velocity of 0m/s would that mean that my final answer should have 1 significant figure or would I use the 3 significant figures my other numbers would indicate

Hi Alli,

 

A simple 0 doesn't count in determining significant digits.  So, use the other nonzero numbers to decide how many figures are significant.
