In your chemistry book, look up the atomic weights of Na and Cl in grams per mole, and add them to get the molecular weight of NaCl in grams per mole. Divide the given mass of NaCl by the molecular weight of NaCl to get the number of moles of NaCl. Note this is the same as the number of moles of Na. Finally, multiply the number of moles of Na by the atomic weight of Na to get the mass of Na.
