Let the 2 consecutive odd integers be n and n+2.
n(n + 2) = 99
Solve for n.
n2 + 2n - 99 = 0
(n + 11)(n - 9) = 0 ⇒
Two solutions:
n = -11
n + 2 = -9
and
n = 9
n + 2 = 11
Test the answers.
