Marawa is digging two rectangular holes in her backyard to put in two pools, one for little children and one for bigger people. Rectangle L for the little children is dilated by 5 to make Rectangle B for bigger people. If Rectangle L has an area of 10 sq ft, what is the area of Rectangle B? Round to the nearest whole number.

The area of a rectangle is L*W. We know that the area of rectangle L is 10 square feet, so L_L*W_L = 10

Since the dimensions of rectangle B are each expanded by a factor of 5, L_B = L_L* 5  and W_B = W_L * 5

A_B = L_B * w_B = (L_L * 5) * (W_L * 5) = (L_L * W_L) * (5 * 5) = 10 * 25 = 250 square feet
