A restaurant opens at 8:30 am and closes 9 and 1/2 hours later. What time did it close.

I need to know how to do the process to solve this question.

YOU can do this. add 9 hours to 8:30 -- you get 17:30 which is equivalently to 5:30 pm. Now add that extra half hour.

Closes at 6 p.m.  VERY PECULIAR HOURS FOR AQ RESTAURANT.
