How to solve x(x+7)=0

I need help solving equations

in order for the left side of the equation to be zero so that it reduces to a true statement, 0 = 0,

either x = 0 and/or x+7 = 0.  Solving these you find that x=0 and/or x = -7 to end up with 0=0.

 

so solutions are x=0, x=-7.  Plug each one in to check and see if that works.
