In theory this is true.  Since a mixture is considered to be a combination of two or more pure substances in which each pure substance retains its individual chemical properties, it should be possible by chemical means to separate the components.  Whether or not this is practical is another story.  If this is a 6th grade science question, the answer is TRUE.
