In a 21 page article containing 48,000 words, how many pages must be in smaller type?

In printing an article of 48,000 words, a printer decides to use two sizes of type. Using the larger type, a printed page contains 1,800 words. Using the smaller type, a page contains 2,400 words. The article is allotted 21 full pages in a magazine. How many pages must be in smaller type?

Let X = No. of pages with large type (with 1800 words per page )

Y = No. of pages with small type ( With 2400 words per page)

X + Y = 21 ...... Eq 1

also 1800 X + 2400 Y = total words = 48000

or 18X + 24 Y = 480

or 3 X + 4 Y = 80  .... Eq 2

solve these two Equations for X and Y and  Y is the answer
