Solve this as a proportion.

 

(10 arms) / (8 eyes) = (12 arms) / (x eyes)

 

10/8 = 12/x

 

Solve for x.

 

x = (8/10)(12) = 9.6

 

Note:  Since x is not an integer, I suggest this is not a realistic problem.
