The first step is to read through the problem and put together a formula based on the information given:
"Six times": 6* ?
"the sum of a number and 24": ? = x +24 --> this part needs to be put in parentheses so the 6 can be multiplied to the whole set ?= (x+24)
So far, our problem looks like: 6*(x+24)
Then our range is "at most 19", or a maximum of 19, so 6*(x+24) can be equal to everything less than and equal to 19.
The less than sign has "the mouth of the alligator" eating the bigger number.
Since 19 is a maximum, the equation looks like this: 6*(x+24) ≤ 19
