Solve inequality word problem

Suppose the physics club is going on a field trip.  Members wil be riding in vans that will hold 7 people each including the driver.   At least 28 people will be going on the filed trip.  What is the least number of vans needed to make the trip?

If there are n vans and each van holds 7 people then

 

7 x n = total number of people going on the field trip

 

Since the total number of people is at least 28, then the total number of people must be 28 or more, so

 

7n ≥ 28

n ≥ 4

 

They will need at least 4 vans.
