2^x + 2^x+1 = m * 2^x+2

 

Is ‘m’ a: natural, rational or irrational number?

2^x + 2^x+1 is equivalent to 2^x + 2^x *2¹

 

So you can factor out the common factor of 2^x leaving you the factored expression

2^x(1+2) = 3*2^x

 

Similarly, m*2^x+2 is equivalent to m*2^x * 2² = 4m*2^x

 

So 3*2^x= 4m*2^x

     3    = 4m

    3/4 = m

 

This is a rational number.
