Let's make some algebra formulas based on this information.
"Ray earns $11 more than hunter"
So, we can write the following equation:
R = H + 11
where R is Ray and H is Hunter. This way, however much Hunter makes, Ray makes 11 more dollars. Now the following:
"If ray earns $25, how much does hunter earn?"
Ok, so Ray earns 25, therefore R = 25
R = H + 11
25 = H + 11
To solve for H, subtract 11 from each side:
H = (25-11) = 14
