If she spends 14 minutes less on the bike than on the metro, what is the distance in miles from her house to the metro? (Round your answer to one decimal place.)

9t + 40t + 560/60 = 32

49t = 1360/60

t = (1360/60)(1/49)

t = 1360/2940

 

9(1360/2940) = 12,240/2940 = 4.2 miles
