  Y = X - 4

 

     slope =1      Yintercept =-4

 

  

   From point  ( 0. -4) go 1 point up to ( 0,-3 ) one point to the right ( 1, -3)

 

   Connect ( 0, -4 ) to ( 1, -3).

 

  Yanjing's way is correct too, but gives different method of either connect 2 points of a line or one point and slope.

It is a linear system with 2 variables and its figure is a straight line. So you need to find two points to draw the line, for example, (0,-4) and (4,0). Then draw a straight line through the two points.

y = x - 4

 

This is a straight line equation with slope = 1 and y intercept = -4
