This number has a 9 in the thousandths place And a 1in the ones place. The total sum of the digits is 17. There are no 3's or 5's and all of the digits are greater than 0. The smallest digit is in the ones place.  What number am I ?

1.169 or 1.619  

 

Your question doesn't say whether or not x > y or x <y.

 

If the ones place means 0.1 rather than 1.0 then the solution will be 0.179
