Define what this meansand use your definition discuss why the following process is not scientific: Let’s say that I lock myself in a room with no windows and no connection to the outside world and think really long and hard about why drinking too much alcohol for many decades leads to early death (imagine that I know nothing about anatomy). I come up with a theory. Why is the theory not scientific?

Science as an empirical field means all hypotheses need to be evaluated through experiments. Only after several experiments have been done and peer-reviewed will the hypotheses be considered a scientific theory. Regarding your example, your theory needs to be tested using the scientific method to determine if your hypotheses can predict the experiments' outcome. If one experiment deviates from an expected result, your theory is incorrect and needs to be evaluated.
