Here we have 2 substances coming together to form one substance. This is thus a combination reaction or sometimes you'll hear it call a synthesis reaction. Decomposition is when 1 thing breaks down into 2 or more things. Formation isn't an official type of reaction although it sounds similar to combination. And lastly combustion occurs when hydrocarbons burn in oxygen to produce carbon dioxide and water. So the final answer here would be: A. combination.

Just for the record, there is such a thing a a "formation" reaction. It is simply a reaction in which one mole of a substance is formed from its constituent elements in their standard states. For example, C(s) + 2H2(g) → CH4(g). And for the record, I did not vote thumbs down. I do like your answer.
