A certain group fare to New York is priced so that three adults and four children cost$136 whereas two adults and three children cost $97.Find the price of the adult’s ticket and the price of a child’s ticket.

3A + 4C =136   -2(3A + 4C) = 136(-2)  -6A+ -8C = -272

2A +  3C= 97    3(2A +3C ) = 97(3)        6A + 9C =  291

                                                                      C = 19

2A + 3(19) =97

2A = 97-57

 

2A = 40

A=20 

Adult ticket is $20 and the child's ticket is $19
