How did the constitution achieve a separation of powers?

It established 3 different branches of government:

 

(1) The Legislative Branch (read Article 1 of the Constitution of the United States of America)

(2) The Executive Branch (read Article 2 of the Constitution of the United States of America)

(3) The Judicial Branch (read Article 3 of the Constitution of the United States of America)
