It would help if you copied the problem exactly like you see it in your work - with commas and periods. Those are important for understanding how the problem is set up.
If I'm understanding correctly, Ram read 10 pages on Monday, 1/3 of the remaining book on Tuesday, and then had 24 pages more to read to finish the book.
Let P represent the total number of pages in the book.
Then we can add the amount from each day to get the total number of pages.
Monday = 10
Tuesday = (1/3)(P - 10) ("of" means multiply so "1/3 of" means "1/3 *". "Remaining" means that it's the total number of pages - the 10 pages that were already read)
Left to read = 24
So: 10 + (1/3)(P - 10) + 24 = P
Distribute to remove the ( ): 10 + 1/3 P - 10/3 + 24 = P
No one likes fractions, so let's multiply EVERYTHING in that problem by 3 to get rid of the fractions: 30 + P - 10 + 72 = 3P
Then combine like terms on the left: 92 + P = 3P
Move P to the right by subtracting on both sides: 92 = 2P
And divide both sides by 2: 46 = P
