First choose variables to represent the unknowns

j = Juliets cans

r = Rosannas cans

s = Santiagos cans

 

From information given create equations

 

j = r + 10

s = 2j = 2(r+10)=2r+20

j+r+s = 130

 

(r+10)+r + (2r+20) = 130

4r+30 = 130

4r = 100

r = 25

 

s = 2r+20 = 70

 

j = r+10 = 35
